Herbs and Greens

There are different methods for growing herbs and fresh leaf crops. The short growing cycle of most crops allows for an “industrial” approach to the growing system. Many growers use these crops in multi-automation systems and in water growing systems that allow maximum control over the conditions prevailing in the root zone of the plants.
Growing in water requires the use of unique fertilization systems as well as control and supervision systems for various indicators of the growing solution. This includes developing the ability to control the chemical composition of the water but also the ability to monitor pathogens in the solution and destroy them.
The physical size of most leaf crops allows them to be grown in several floors. This optimizes the utilization of the breeding facility and the climate control systems. On the other hand, it forces the breeder to find solutions that will provide the required amount of lighting in all the growing floors.
