In line with the trend of engaging in green agriculture and the ongoing shift towards the use of soil-less beds, we have developed unique methods for collecting and recycling the water drained from the beds. Extra irritation is required when using soil-less beds in order to ensure proper drainage from the substrate media and to prevent the accumulation of salt deposits.
The drained water is collected into a central tank and sent to the main irrigation room where it undergoes a monitoring and purification process in order to restore it to the quality required for irrigation purposes. The more common disinfection methods are by using Chlorine or by using UV lighting.
After the disinfection process, fertilizer levels are monitored and the water is diluted with fresh irrigation water that flows from the main irrigation unit.
The system is suitable solely for growing crops in soil-less beds that are equipped with a drainage collection system.
The advantages of the system are clearly obvious. It serves as the preferred system for agricultural projects financed by the public sector and for tenders due to important ecological aspects: limited chemical usage and preventing the penetration of irrigation water into sewage systems or underground water sources.
